Our Purpose

Family together Military life asks a lot — not just of those who serve, but of the families who move alongside them. Frequent relocations can mean leaving behind friends, schools, and communities, making it difficult to hold onto the connections that shaped your life.

Children playing At My Military Connection, our mission is to help restore and preserve those bonds. Over the course of a 20-year career, it's common for a family to move five or more times. Each move creates new friendships, but it also makes it easy for old ones to fade away. This happened all to often in the past and is still happening today despite the growth of social media.

Military dependents, or brats, often hear the question: "What's it like to grow up moving around so much?" There isn't a simple answer. Without the stability of one hometown, it can be hard to explain what that life feels like — except to those who've lived it too. Family packing

That's why we've built this site: to make sure those connections are never lost again. Whether you're a service member, a spouse, or a dependent, you'll have not only a way to keep track of the people and places that were part of your journey, but to find and reconnect with those you have lost touch with over the years. Families reuniting

Our goal is to provide a sense of stability for families who have already given so much in service to our country. With My Military Connection, lifelong friendships don't have to disappear with the next set of orders — they can endure for years to come.

How It Works

At its core, My Military Connection is powered by the people who use it. Each member and family contributes pieces of their story — duty stations, schools, and connections that shaped their journey. Those entries come together in a shared database that links people through the places and experiences they have in common. Unlike typical social networks, we're not just about "friending" or following. Our system is built around the reality of military life: moves, assignments, and the communities tied to them. That means you can search and reconnect in ways that reflect your actual experiences — finding the friends you lived near, the classmates you shared a base school with, or the families who walked the same path as yours.

Why Roles Matter

Every user joins with a role that reflects their connection to military life — either as a sponsor, a dependent, or both. Most sites focus on just one piece of the puzzle, separating veterans, service members, or families into their own spaces. My Military Connection is different. We bring those groups together in one place, because the story of military life isn't complete without all of them. Sponsors can record their service paths and duty stations. Dependents can link their own journeys through schools and family moves. Users who choose both can bridge those roles in a single account, keeping their family story whole. Together, these perspectives form a single community that honors the full picture of military life — because service members weren't the only ones who gave, and it's time the families who served were recognized as well.
